Charles "Chuck" Scott Diebel, age 62, passed suddenly on Monday, November 21, 2016. He was born December 5, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles and Patricia Diebel. Chuck was a loving husband to Dr. Elizabeth White Diebel and nurturing father to his four children: Charles Morgan Diebel (25), Mazie Rose Bryant (24), Camilla Jeanette Bryant (22), and Judson Tufts Diebel (18). He graduated with a degree in horticulture from Ohio State University in 1978, which propelled his lifelong interest in landscaping and plant management. His fascination led to the establishment of two successful nurseries, Cincinnati Pine in Ohio and Diebel Nurseries, an eight-year-old crape myrtle nursery in Autaugaville, Alabama. Chuck loved playing the piano, fishing, golfing, restoring vintage motorcycles, and most of all spending time with his friends and family. He especially enjoyed watching his two sons wrestle throughout high school, often strategizing from the bleachers above. Chuck is survived by his mother Patricia of West Chester, Ohio; sisters Kathy Carter of Nortville, Mich., and Nancy (Tony) Escobar of Centennial, Colo.; and brother Robert (Tina) Diebel of Maineville, Ohio. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, November 26, in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church, 2416 West Cloverdale Park in Montgomery, Ala. The memorial service will be held immediately following at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations in memory of Chuck Diebel to Saint James School's wrestling program via mail or www.stjweb.org/giving/donate, or to the nonprofit Treatment Advocacy Center via www.treatmentadvocacycenter.org.
